Midwife Your Life Q&A: Postpartum, Identity & Rebirth

Midwife Your Life Q&A: Postpartum, Identity & Rebirth

Nov 3, 2025 | Midwife Life

When was the last time you felt like yourself?

Not just functioning, but truly you.
This week on The Midwife Life podcast, I’m answering the questions you submitted: raw, honest, and straight from the heart. From postpartum healing to personal rebirth, this Listener Q&A is a love letter to every woman in the sacred middle.

Whether you’re newly postpartum, navigating a major life shift, or just feeling a little untethered, this one is for you.

“I’m six months postpartum and still don’t feel like myself. What’s normal?”

Let’s start here: you are not behind.
Six months postpartum isn’t “late” to be healing—it’s still early.

In this episode, I talk about why the timeline we’ve been sold around postpartum recovery is wildly unrealistic. Your hormones, nervous system, and even your sense of identity are still rebalancing at six months—and likely far beyond.

Healing isn’t linear. You will find yourself again—but she may not be who you were. She may be someone wiser, softer, stronger.

“Do I really need to track my cycle?”

But if you want to feel more connected to your body, your emotions, and your energy, you’ll want to.

Your cycle is a blueprint. It holds insight into when you’re most creative, when you need rest, and when your intuition is sharpest. Even writing one sentence a day can help you notice patterns that lead to self-trust.

Tracking your cycle isn’t about control—it’s about reverence. It’s letting your biology become your compass.

“I feel like I’ve lost myself. How do I come back?”

This is one of the most common and tender questions I receive.

Motherhood is a portal—it breaks you open and invites you to meet a new version of yourself. But most of us were never taught how to hold space for our own rebirth while caring for everyone else.

In the episode, I share:
What it means to be in the “in between”
How to reconnect with your spark
Why coming back isn’t the goal, becoming is

“You don’t need to go back—you get to become.”

“How do I know when it’s time to let go of something I once loved?”

Whether it’s a dream, a role, or an identity you once clung to, letting go doesn’t mean failure.

It means you’ve evolved
our energy shifts. Your body knows. And your soul starts whispering: this is no longer it.

Sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is make space—for peace, for possibility, for the next sacred yes.

“Letting go isn’t an ending—it’s a sacred clearing for your next evolution.”

What You’ll Hear in This Episode

Real answers to real questions like:

Why your pelvic floor deserves more than a 6-week checkup
How I rebuilt my identity while raising kids and running a business
The truth about motivation when everything falls apart
What “midwifing your life” actually looks like in everyday moments

This is a conversation about healing, yes—but it’s also about becoming.
And if you’re in the messy middle right now? You’re not alone. You’re exactly where transformation begins.
